AHS Pipeline Innovation is proud to have supported the Bentley Wastewater Treatment Works upgrade in Doncaster, where Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) is delivering essential infrastructure improvements for Yorkshire Water.
This £11 million project aims to reduce phosphorus levels in local watercourses and improve the quality of water flowing into the River Don. As part of the upgrade, a new 2.5km rising main and outfall is being installed, alongside other treatment enhancements to protect the environment and improve water quality in the region.
Ensuring Pipeline Integrity with our Pressure Testing Equipment
Throughout the project, MMB has carried out a series of pressure tests on the new rising main with the support of AHS’s specialist team and equipment. These tests are critical for verifying the strength and integrity of the new pipelines, ensuring they meet required safety and performance standards before being put into service.
Innovative Stopper Safety Solutions
To isolate sections of pipework, MMB required inflatable blank stoppers from AHS. To further enhance site safety, they also utilized our innovative safety beacon stands, which provide a multi-stage safety warning system. If pressure loss occurs in the stopper, the alarm and flashing beacon instantly alert the site team, improving the safety of the working environment.
Manhole Construction with Vertform
AHS’s Vertform system was also used on-site to create manhole inverts, providing a precise, efficient, and reliable method for forming high-quality flow channels in manholes. By using prefabricated fiberglass components, Vertform allows for faster and more consistent construction, reducing both labour time and material waste compared to traditional methods.
